Terms, Donations and Refund Policy

iThuba Innovation Hub NPC is a nonprofit company based in Langa, Cape Town, South Africa. We provide educational, youth-development, leadership, technology and community programmes.

The online payment facility on this website is intended solely for voluntary donations, sponsorship contributions and other charitable support made to iThuba Innovation Hub.

A donation does not constitute payment for a product, programme, event or service. No goods or services are provided in exchange for a donation unless this has been agreed separately in writing.

Programme fees, event fees and other service-related payments are not processed through the website's Payfast donation facility. Where applicable, these payments will be arranged separately through electronic funds transfer (EFT).

Donations are used to support iThuba Innovation Hub's mission, programmes, operational needs and community-development activities.

Where a donor selects or agrees to support a particular programme or purpose, iThuba Innovation Hub will make reasonable efforts to use the donation accordingly. If circumstances prevent the funds from being used for that exact purpose, iThuba Innovation Hub may contact the donor or redirect the funds to a closely related charitable purpose.

Online payments are securely processed by Payfast. Donors may be required to accept Payfast's own terms and conditions when completing a payment.

iThuba Innovation Hub does not directly collect or store donors' complete bank-card information.

Because donations are voluntary contributions that may be allocated to programmes soon after receipt, donations are generally non-refundable.

However, a donor may request a refund where:

• A donation was made in error;
• An incorrect amount was entered;
• The same donation was processed more than once;
• The donor did not authorise the transaction; or
• There are other exceptional circumstances that iThuba Innovation Hub considers reasonable.

Refund requests should be submitted in writing to info@ithubahub.com and should include:

• The donor's full name;
• The transaction date and amount;
• The Payfast payment or transaction reference;
• The reason for requesting the refund; and
• Supporting information, where applicable.

Each request will be reviewed individually. Approved refunds will ordinarily be returned using the original payment method, subject to Payfast's processing procedures and applicable law. Processing times may depend on Payfast and the donor's financial institution.

This policy does not limit any rights available under applicable South African law.

If recurring donations are offered in the future, donors may request cancellation of future payments by contacting us at info@ithubahub.com.

Cancelling a recurring donation will stop future payments but will not automatically refund donations that have already been processed. Any refund request relating to a completed payment will be considered under the refund provisions above.

Sponsorships, grants and restricted contributions may also be governed by a separate written agreement between iThuba Innovation Hub and the relevant funder or sponsor. If that agreement contains different payment, reporting, cancellation or refund conditions, the signed agreement will take precedence.

iThuba Innovation Hub may issue a receipt or written acknowledgement for donations received.

A standard donation receipt is not automatically a tax-deductible Section 18A certificate. A Section 18A certificate will only be issued where iThuba Innovation Hub is legally authorised to issue one and the donation meets the applicable requirements.

Personal information submitted when making a donation will be used to process the payment, maintain appropriate financial records, communicate with the donor and comply with legal or regulatory requirements.

Personal information will be handled in accordance with applicable South African data-protection laws and our Privacy Policy.

We take reasonable steps to ensure that information on this website is accurate and current. However, programme details and organisational information may be updated from time to time.

iThuba Innovation Hub may update these terms when necessary. The latest version will be published on this website together with its effective date.
