We create and engage the community in future technologies, innovative problem-solving and hands-on learning — right where our learners live.
Our story
iThuba Innovation Hub grew out of the Happy Feet Youth Project, a Langa organisation working with local children through arts, culture and sport. As those children got older, a gap became obvious: they had somewhere to belong, but nowhere to build technical skills.
The STEM programme launched in 2017. Today the Hub runs daily, serving more than 55 learners a year, staffed largely by young adults who came through these same programmes.

A Langa known for its innovators
Learners don't just use new technology — they develop and design the newest solutions.
Our learners solve real-world problems in their own communities.
Langa becomes known as a place whose students are highly trained for high-level STEM jobs.
Students are strong in numeracy and literacy, ready for any future field of study or work.

Governance
iThuba Innovation Hub is a Langa-based non-profit youth organisation, grown out of the Happy Feet Youth Project and run alongside Siviwe Tours. Programmes are delivered daily from the Hub in Langa and funded through a mix of partnerships, donations and income from township tourism.
